Keeps the paddle out of your way
0 people found this helpfulWider distance between screw pilots give better bearing on hull. The clip holds the paddle out of your way. I mounted mine on a 12' sit inside. Backed it up inside with a piece of quarter inch plastic cutting board to reduce gunnel flex of a roto molded kayak. Fishing in reeds and over hanging dead and leafy branches it is a good idea to attach a paddle leash when a branch may pop the paddle from the clip. 5 stars 'cause it does exactly what it was made for.
