Our History
The story of Brad’s Killer Fishing Gear begins with owner Brad Schoenborn’s father Larry Schoenborn. Larry is a Pacific NW Fishing Legend. He owned “Fishing the West” TV show and a small chain of sporting goods stores “Larry’s Sports Center.” Through working in his dad’s stores, Brad grew to love fishing, while also learning the marine and tackle business. In the mid to late 1990’s Brad and his wife Joanne started hand tying Sturgeon and Salmon Steelhead leaders and selling them to local sporting goods stores. Brad and Joanne would sit in the front room of their home with 5 gallon buckets between them tying leaders one at a time. The products started to gain momentum, and soon after, they started making fishing lures and other baits. Word started to spread that Brad’s baits were some of the best. And, well, the rest is history!
