Clover Plus is a blend of red and white new Zealand clovers and an extremely successful variety of chicory-making this a very attractive planting offering quality forage that produces through the hot months of summer. These clovers are very succulent and the huge leaves produce excellent nutritional forage for both whitetail and turkeys. The chicories are a favorite of whitetail and thrive in the heat of summer. Once established, and with normal rainfall events, you can expect growth for 3 to 5 years. This blend is best planted by spreading the seed on a well prepared seedbed at nine pounds per acre, then using a cultipacker to cover the seed. Broadcasting the seed on a well prepared seedbed just prior to rain also produces an excellent stand as the rain serves to bury the seed the appropriate depth(1/4") and ensure there is adequate soil moisture for germination. Disking is not recommended as this process buries the seed too deep for survival. Clover Plus can be planted anytime after mid August in the south, and as late as mid October, as long as adequate soil moisture is available. In northern climates like MI or NY, it can be frost seeded or planted during the spring when adequate soil moisture is available. 27 lbs. for 3 acres.
